Have a lot to review?

A piece does not have to look like bright yellow gold to be worth asking about.

Crowns, bridges and laboratory scrap can be discussed.

02

Choose pickup or mail-in

Ask CrownMen about Free Pickup eligibility or sending your material.

03

What can you sell?

Start with what is already set aside.

These cards show examples of qualifying dental restorations and laboratory scrap, not the full eligibility policy. Mixed or unmarked precious-metal-bearing material can be evaluated. Porcelain and tooth or bone remnants may remain attached. Dental wires, orthodontic material and amalgam/mercury-containing material are not accepted.

What We Refine

Unmarked does not mean without value

Do not classify an unusual lot by appearance alone. Contact CrownMen about uncertain material, including non-precious dental alloys, for review before sending it.

Eligibility and shipping

No Minimum Requirements is not a free-pickup threshold.

No Minimum Requirements

CrownMen does not require a minimum lot size to discuss or submit material for refining. This does not mean every shipment automatically qualifies for Free Pickup.

Free Pickup

Free pickup applies at 25 crowns, or at 100 grams for dental laboratory sweeps, grindings and filters. These are free-pickup eligibility thresholds, not minimums for discussing or submitting material.

CrownMen serves customers nationwide in all 50 US states. Same-day pickup is available Monday through Friday when you call before noon; weekend pickup availability depends on FedEx. Mail-in service is also available. See the Terms and Conditions for full operating conditions.

Why dental scrap may have value

Do not judge the lot by one piece.

Dental material can contain gold, silver, platinum, palladium or unmarked noble-metal alloys. Precious-metal content is not always obvious by appearance.

Rather than pricing individual pieces by appearance, start with a description of your lot. CrownMen can discuss what to send before you arrange pickup.

A clear customer journey

Start with the material you have. CrownMen can help clarify the next step before you send or schedule anything.

How to sell or send your dental scrap

From pickup request to settlement.

Start by describing your lot. CrownMen helps confirm the next step, then evaluates the received material for settlement.

01

Gather the material

Set aside qualifying material. Before shipping, sterilize it, double-bag it, include your customer name for identification and follow shipment-specific packing instructions.

02

Request pickup or contact CrownMen

Describe your lot or submit a pickup request. After a pickup request, CrownMen calls to confirm the lot size and sends packing material.

03

Choose pickup or mail-in

Discuss pickup eligibility or the mail-in option. FedEx is used for shipping and pickup.

04

Receive and process the lot

CrownMen receives and weighs the lot, then processes/melts it into a homogeneous form for evaluation.

05

Assay the material

Material is assayed on the day received. XRF readings of the processed material are taken from four angles and averaged; fire assay is also used.

06

Review settlement and get paid

Review the detailed settlement report and payment options. The stated 72-Hour Payout is within 72 hours of assay acceptance, not receipt, subject to the payment terms and any written agreement.

Discuss the result with CrownMen

If you have questions about the evaluated lot or settlement, discuss them directly with CrownMen. For an overview of the service, see Dental Scrap Refining for service details.

Value and settlement

How is dental scrap valued?

Your detailed settlement report can show DWT weights, precious-metal percentages, the applicable spot price, refining split, fees and deductions, and the final payout. The measured recovered metal—not appearance alone—provides the basis for settlement.

Refining split and fees

CrownMen pays 98% of recovered gold value, 90% of recovered silver value, 85% of recovered platinum value and 85% of recovered palladium value. These percentages are fixed. The applicable noble-metal spot price is the price at the time of the melt; metal pricing is determined and locked after the material is melted and X-rayed. A $75 melt fee applies to the entire lot, and the assay fee varies by lot.

No Hidden Fees

No undisclosed charges. The applicable fees and deductions are reflected in the settlement; this does not mean no fees.

How do you pay for dental scrap?

Available methods include check, express check, Zelle, PayPal, ACH and wire. ACH and wire fees apply. Zelle can be same day; other methods require at least 24 hours.

CrownMen assays material on the day it is received. The stated 72-Hour Payout is within 72 hours of assay acceptance, not receipt, subject to the payment terms and any written agreement.
