Terms and Conditions of Service
CrownMen Inc. · Effective Date: October 2, 2012
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using the website https://crownmen.com/, engaging with CrownMen Inc. (“CrownMen,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) for the purpose of selling, refining, or recycling dental scrap, heavy metal, cremation metal, or other precious metals (collectively, the “Material”), or scheduling a pickup, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Website or our services.
2. Description of Services
CrownMen Inc. provides professional precious metal refining services. This involves:
- Accepting Material (e.g., dental scrap, gold crowns, noble metals, cremation metal) from customers (“you” or “Seller”).
- Processing, assaying, and refining the Material to determine the precious metal content.
- Offering to purchase the determined precious metal content from you at a rate based on current market prices and applicable refining fees.
- Facilitating payment for the purchased precious metals.
- Offering services such as scheduling a pickup.
CrownMen does not accept brass, copper, stainless steel, or alloys that do not hold value. For accepted material and items that need evaluation, see What We Refine.
3. Seller Obligations and Representations
By using our services, you represent and warrant that:
- Legal Title: You are the true and legal owner of all Material submitted to CrownMen.
- Authority: You have the full legal right and authority to sell, transfer, and convey the Material to CrownMen.
- Lawful Origin: The Material was obtained lawfully and is free from any liens, claims, or encumbrances.
- Compliance: The sale and transfer of the Material does not violate any local, state, federal, or international laws, including but not limited to laws regarding theft, fraud, money laundering, or the handling of medical/biological waste.
- Hazardous Materials: You will not send any Material that is deemed hazardous, toxic, radioactive, or biohazardous waste, unless properly contained, sterilized, and packaged in full compliance with all applicable regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, DOT).
4. The Refining and Payment Process
A. Valuation/Assay
Upon receipt of your Material, CrownMen inspects and weighs the lot, then processes or melts it into a homogeneous lot for evaluation. The processed material is X-rayed using XRF; readings from four angles are averaged. Fire assay is also used. CrownMen assays material on the day it is received. The assay process remains at the sole discretion of CrownMen. For more on the process, see How It Works.
B. Offer
Based on the recovered and assayed precious metals, the applicable noble-metal spot price at the time of the melt, CrownMen's fixed refining split, and the disclosed charges below, we calculate a final purchase price and issue a payment offer (an “Assay Statement”). The final metal price is determined and locked after the material is melted and X-rayed. The fixed settlement percentages are 98% of recovered gold value, 90% for recovered silver, 85% for recovered platinum, and 85% for recovered palladium; these do not apply to theoretical or unprocessed metal content. The Assay Statement includes relevant weights, metal percentages, market price, refining split, fees and deductions, and final payout.
A $75 melt fee applies to the entire lot. An assay fee also applies and varies by lot. Shipping and insurance are free for submissions; pickup is free when the eligibility conditions below are met. There are no minimum-value deductions and no administrative or processing fees beyond the stated applicable charges on a completed payout. CrownMen does not charge undisclosed fees. If material is returned following a valuation disagreement, the return-related charges stated below apply instead.
C. Acceptance and Finality
- You may review and approve the settlement before payment. CrownMen's final assay determination and pricing methodology apply to the payment offer, subject to the finality provision below and any written agreement.
- Unless otherwise explicitly agreed upon in writing, once CrownMen processes the Material for refining, the transaction is deemed final and complete. You explicitly waive any right to demand the return of the Material after the refining process has commenced.
If you disagree with the valuation, CrownMen can ship the material back to you where return remains possible under the finality provision above. A melt fee, X-ray fee, shipping fee, and processing fee apply to that return. These return-related charges are waived if you proceed with the payout. Once refining begins, the existing finality provision means you cannot demand the material back.
D. Payment
You may select check, Express Check, Zelle, PayPal, ACH, or wire as the payment method. Zelle can be same-day; other methods can take at least 24 hours. ACH and wire have fees; no fixed fee amount is stated here. You may approve the settlement before payment.
CrownMen assays material on the same day it is received. The payout clock starts at assay acceptance, not at receipt of the material. Payment is within 72 hours of assay acceptance, subject to the payment terms and any written agreement described above.
E. No Minimum Requirements and Free Pickup
No Minimum Requirements means CrownMen does not require a minimum lot size to discuss or submit material for refining. It does not mean every shipment automatically qualifies for Free Pickup. Free Pickup for standard dental material applies at 25 crowns, or, for dental laboratory sweeps, grindings, and filters, at 100 grams. These are free-pickup thresholds, not minimum requirements for discussing or submitting material.
CrownMen serves customers nationwide in the United States and uses FedEx for shipping and pickup. Prepaid and insured shipping is available. Same-day pickup is available Monday through Friday when you call before noon; weekend pickup availability depends on FedEx. Sterilize dental material before shipping, double-bag it, and include your name for shipment identification. Follow the shipment-specific packing guidance CrownMen provides and confirm any remaining identification or pickup/shipping instructions before sending material. See Sell Dental Scrap or contact CrownMen for guidance.
