The CrownMen service
CrownMen refines precious-metal-bearing dental restorations and laboratory material to recover gold, silver, platinum or palladium. Evaluation is based on the processed lot, not surface appearance.
Dental professionals can discuss a lot directly with CrownMen and receive detailed settlement reporting. The report connects the evaluated precious-metal content with the payout calculation.

These are examples of qualifying restorations and laboratory scrap, not the full eligibility list. Porcelain and tooth or bone remnants can remain attached. Mixed or unmarked precious-metal-bearing material can be evaluated; ask CrownMen about uncertain material.
A note on appearance
Not every valuable piece looks like bright yellow gold. PFMs, PFGs and unmarked noble metals can still belong in the conversation.

For dental professionals
Dentists and practices can have removed crowns, bridges, PFMs and PFGs evaluated rather than guessing their metal content from appearance.
Refining for dentistsLaboratory casting scrap, sweeps, grindings and filters can be evaluated alongside qualifying dental restorations.
Refining for dental laboratoriesDSOs can discuss qualifying dental materials and settlement reporting directly with CrownMen.
CrownMen also serves oral surgeons, dental schools, hospitals and other institutions, and individuals with qualifying dental material. Ask CrownMen about a specific lot before sending it.

The useful detail
Processing creates a homogeneous lot for evaluation rather than relying on the appearance of a single piece.
How dental scrap refining works
Measured results from processing and assay—not appearance alone—inform the final settlement.
CrownMen receives and weighs the qualifying lot before processing.
The lot is melted and processed into a homogeneous form for evaluation.
XRF readings of the processed material are taken from four angles and averaged. Fire assay is also used.
Your detailed settlement report reflects the evaluated lot and the payout calculation.
For more on the measurements, read how dental scrap is evaluated.
From assay to settlement
The detailed report can show DWT weights, measured precious-metal percentages, applicable spot price, the refining split, disclosed fees and deductions, and final payout. These measurements—not the appearance of the original material—inform the calculation.
CrownMen's fixed percentages are 98% of recovered gold value, 90% for silver, 85% for platinum and 85% for palladium. The applicable noble-metal spot price is the price at the time of the melt; the metal price is determined and locked after the material is melted and X-rayed. The $75 melt fee applies to the entire lot, and the assay fee varies by lot. The gold percentage is based on recovered value, not theoretical content regardless of recovery.
No Hidden Fees means no undisclosed charges—not no fees. Applicable fees and deductions appear in the settlement.
CrownMen assays material on the same day it is received. The stated 72-Hour Payout is within 72 hours of assay acceptance, not receipt, subject to the payment terms and any written agreement.
See the Terms and Conditions for full payment conditions.
No Minimum Requirements means no minimum lot size to discuss or submit material for refining. Free Pickup is separate: it applies at 25 crowns, or 100 grams for dental laboratory sweeps, grindings and filters. These are pickup eligibility thresholds, not minimums for submitting a lot. Same-day pickup is available Monday through Friday when you call before noon; weekend availability depends on FedEx.
