How to Sell Dental Gold
Dental gold can be sold to a qualified dental-scrap buyer or refiner after the material is identified, submitted and evaluated for its precious-metal content. Start by confirming what the buyer accepts and how results, settlement and transfer are handled; appearance alone cannot establish a lot’s value.

Who Can Sell Dental Gold?
CrownMen accepts eligible dental-gold material from individual consumers, dentists, dental practices and offices, oral surgeons, dental laboratories, Dental Service Organizations (DSOs), dental schools, hospitals and other institutions. Funeral homes and crematoriums may also have qualifying dental material where applicable.
Not every material from every seller qualifies. Confirm acceptance before arranging a transfer.
What Dental Gold May Include
Examples include gold crowns, gold bridges, gold fillings, inlays, onlays and gold partials. Porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) and porcelain-fused-to-gold (PFG) restorations may also contain precious metals, but their composition varies.
Color and appearance do not establish purity or value. For the fuller eligibility list, check which materials CrownMen refines.
How to Sell Dental Gold
A practical starting point is to identify possible dental-gold material, then confirm a buyer accepts it before sending anything. Review how the buyer tests the material and reports the results and settlement.
- Identify the material you may want to sell.
- Confirm that the buyer accepts that material.
- Review the buyer’s evaluation and testing process.
- Ask what settlement and results information you will receive.
- Arrange pickup or shipping using the buyer’s current instructions.
- Review the applicable terms before sending the material.
How to Choose a Dental Gold Buyer
Compare buyers on accepted materials, testing or assay methods, how results are communicated, settlement reporting and the pricing basis used. Ask about applicable fees or deductions, pickup or shipping terms, payment timing and customer support.
Where relevant, clarify consent and return terms before you submit a lot. A comparison is most useful when you review the complete settlement, not just an initial estimate.
What Affects Dental Gold Value?
Value depends on the precious metals actually present, the quantity confirmed through evaluation, the applicable market-pricing basis and any deductions or settlement terms. Neither an item’s color nor its gross weight alone establishes its precious-metal value.
Questions to Ask a Buyer
Ask these questions before you send material so you can understand the evaluation and settlement on the same basis.
- What materials do you accept, and how will you test them?
- What results and settlement information will I receive?
- What pricing basis and fees or deductions apply?
- How is pickup or shipping handled, and when is payment made?
- What support, consent, return and other terms apply?
